KC-130R Operational Flight Trainer
Visual Improvement Program
Completed

Veraxx was a principal subcontractor on a successful 13-month program to upgrade the Marine Corps’ KC-130R Operational Flight Trainer (OFT) based at MCAS Miramar, CA. Veraxx modified the OFT’s software to support a new image generator (IG) and visual database, incorporated the Marine Corps’ standard Tactical Environment Network (TEN) system, and installed aircraft survivability equipment (ASE) hardware and software. Of particular note — Veraxx designed, implemented, and integrated the ASE modifications within 5 months from the date an ECP mandating the changes was exercised. Included in the ASE modifications was the replacement of the OFT’s analog ICS with a Digital Sound System (DSS), the addition of APR-39(V2), ALE-39, and AAR-47 models, the incorporation of a Display Graphics (DG) system and IP-1150 cockpit display, and the integration of the ASE with the TEN. Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training, and Support (LM STS) of Orlando, FL was the Prime Contractor on the program which was managed by NAVAIR-Training Systems Division.
